CoachLine — Terms of Service

[DRAFT — for legal review before publishing. Not legal advice.]

Last updated: [date]

1. Who we are

CoachLine is provided by [Legal entity name, e.g. FEEKO Oy], a company registered in Finland ("CoachLine," "we," "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CoachLine application (the "Service").

By creating an account, you agree to these Terms and to our [Privacy Policy]. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Who can use CoachLine

  • You must be at least [18] years old to create a Coach or Club account.
  • Player accounts may be created by a Coach's invitation. Where a Player is a minor, the inviting Coach and/or Club is responsible for ensuring appropriate parental/guardian consent has been obtained in accordance with applicable law, prior to the minor's use of the Service.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide when registering.

3. Accounts and roles

CoachLine offers different account roles — Coach, Club, and Player — each with different features and data access, as described within the app. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

4. User content — you are responsible for what you add

"User Content" means anything you create, upload, or enter into CoachLine, including but not limited to: drills, practice plans, season plans, roster and player information, player notes, feedback responses, tasks, and file attachments.

You retain ownership of your User Content. By using the Service, you grant CoachLine a limited license to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of operating the Service for you.

You are solely responsible for your User Content, including for:

  • Its accuracy, legality, and appropriateness
  • Ensuring you have the right to enter any third party's personal data (e.g. a player's information) into the Service
  • Any consequences arising from sharing, publishing, or disclosing User Content to others within the Service (e.g. publishing a practice plan to players, sharing a player note with another coach)

CoachLine does not review, verify, or endorse User Content, and is not responsible for its accuracy or for how it is used by others within your club or team.

5. Data Processing Addendum (data protection roles)

Where you enter personal data of another individual (e.g. a player, another coach) into the Service:

  • You (the Coach/Club) are the Data Controller for that personal data — you determine what data is collected and why.
  • CoachLine acts as a Data Processor, processing that personal data solely on your instructions, as necessary to provide the Service, and in accordance with our [Privacy Policy] and applicable data protection law (including the GDPR).
  • CoachLine will implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data processed on your behalf (see our Privacy Policy for details on sub-processors and security measures).
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have a valid legal basis (e.g. legitimate interest, consent, or another applicable basis) for entering any individual's personal data into the Service, and for informing those individuals as required by applicable law.

[This clause should be reviewed and likely expanded into a fuller standalone DPA by a lawyer before launch — this is a simplified starting point.]

6. AI features

CoachLine offers AI-assisted features (e.g. AI practice plan generation). These features process the data you provide (such as your drill library) via a third-party AI provider to generate suggestions. AI-generated content is provided as a starting point only — you are responsible for reviewing and editing any AI-generated output before relying on or publishing it.

7. Subscriptions and payment

[To be completed once billing is implemented: pricing, billing cycle, cancellation, refund policy.]

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload content that is harmful, harassing, or infringes on others' rights
  • Attempt to access accounts, teams, or clubs you are not authorized to access
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service's operation

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, CoachLine disclaims all warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, or from User Content entered by you or other users.

[Limitation of liability language should be finalized with a lawyer — enforceability of broad disclaimers varies by jurisdiction and by whether the user is a consumer.]

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes and, where required, ask you to re-accept before continuing to use the Service.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Finland, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have in your country of residence.

13. Contact
